- The Ex-Gratia Stardust Recognition Payment Scheme gives effect to the Government Decision of 10 February 2026, that approved a scheme of ex gratia recognition payments.
Eligibility
- Eligible applicants must:
- have been injured as a result of being present at the Stardust Nightclub, Artane, Dublin at the time of the fire; and
- were awarded compensation by the 1985 Stardust Victims Compensation Tribunal.
- Applications outside of the above criteria will be invalid and not processed.
- All applicants agree to submit all information in accordance with the undertakings made when submitting the application form.
Nature and extent of compensation
- Those eligible and who complete the application for the Ex-Gratia Stardust Recognition Payment shall be paid at a fixed amount of €20,000. There is only one payment per eligible applicant. The Scheme is limited to awarding the fixed payment and makes no provision for awarding any further awards or costs.
Payment
- Eligible applicants within the Terms and Conditions of the Scheme shall be paid the ex-gratia amount of €20,000 by Bank Transfer.
Opening and Closing Date for Applications
- The opening date for applications is Monday 16 February 2026; the closing date for applications is 5pm Monday 17 August 2026. No applications shall be accepted after the closing date.
